Privacy notice
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Information we hold
Published profiles. Profiles contain professional and academic information about their subjects — names, qualifications, affiliations, research, publications, career history and photographs. This information is published with the subject's consent, or in the case of editorially researched profiles, is drawn from public sources and confirmed with the subject before publication.
Submissions. When you submit an achievement we retain the information you provide, including contact details, in order to assess and correspond about the submission. Contact details are not published.
Correspondence. Correction requests, contact messages and related correspondence are retained so that we have a record of what was requested and done.
Newsletter. If you subscribe we retain your email address for that purpose only.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioural tracking on this site, and we do not build advertising profiles of visitors.
Your rights
If you are the subject of a published profile you may at any time request a correction, ask us to update information, obtain a copy of what we hold, or request that your profile be unpublished and your personal information erased. We act on withdrawal requests without requiring justification.
Requests may be made through our corrections page or by writing to [email protected].
Retention
Submissions that do not proceed to publication are retained for twelve months and then deleted. Published profiles are retained while published. Where a profile is withdrawn, the published record is removed and associated personal information is deleted, other than a minimal record that a withdrawal took place.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Where aggregate usage statistics are collected, they are collected in a form that does not identify individual visitors.
External links
Profiles link to external records such as institutional pages, ORCID, indexing services, DOIs and patent databases. Those sites have their own privacy practices, over which we have no control.
New profiles and research writing, once a month
A short editorial letter listing newly published profiles and the research pieces accompanying them. No advertising, no third-party sharing.
By subscribing you agree to our privacy notice.
